Guidelines for Yoga Class
• Best to not have a full stomach during a Hatha Yoga practice. If you bring water to class, take just small sips.
• Wear loose, non-restrictive clothing. Layering is good so that you can moderate your temperature.
• Whether you’re a first time yoga student or have been practicing for years, give attention to whether the various physical techniques are truly serving your well being. Refrain or modify if a pose isn’t appropriate for you, for whatever reason. Feel free to ask for help or suggestions.
• Let me know if you have specific limitations or challenges so that I can offer alternate poses or modifications when I am able to.
If you have a mat, bring it.
If you don’t, I have some extras.
“…Out of love and compassion for her children she (Parvati) imparted her secret knowledge of liberation in the form of tantra. The techniques of yoga have their source in tantra and the two cannot be seperated, just as consciousness, Shiva, cannot be separated from energy, Shakti.”
